Peaceful holiday in beautiful area

We visited Trecan farm and stayed in Holly cottage for a week at the beginning of September. The cottage was lovely very comfortable and peaceful and equipt with everything you want. We visited many places on the Cornwall coast and loved it. We had a few issues at finding the place but got the hang of it in the end, if you follow the instructions it is fine just my husband not good at that.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us theyleft us a delicious cream tea for our arrival.

We were given a guided tour by Janet before we left and all cottages are different but everyone as good as Holly cottage which we stayed in. We would love to return as this place is perfect.

Holly cottage

I have been visiting Trecan Farm now twice a year since 2004 and just love returning to this special place. It is a haven of peace and tranquillity set in a remote part of the Cornish country side and is so enchanting.

A truly wonderful retreat to escape to and at the same time have the warm comfort of the cottage to relax in.

While being remote it is not far from the fishing ports of Looe, Polperro and Fowey and the beautiful coastal path. The lanes local to the farm are also a delight to walk and Bodmin Moor is only a short drive away,

I shall as normal be returning again next year.

We had a brilliant holiday at Trecan farm. The cottage was lovely and were really well equipped and the owners were so friendly and welcoming. The children loved having the freedom to run around the farm and feeding the animals everyday. The games room, and tennis court were great for keeping the kids entertained! Highly recommend!

We have just returned from a week staying at the Lindhay and will definitely be returning! It was a great spot for exploring the local area - we especially loved Looe for rock pooling on hannafore beach, crabbing and a boat trip to the island where we saw seals. The more local talland bay was also loved by the kids, (especially the fab cafe which had tables in beach huts) as well as the novelty of going to fowey by car ferry - also beautiful. The kids loved feeding the animals every morning, as well as playing tennis and table tennis and generally being able to roam about independently with some of the other children there. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The cottage was very comfortable and good value for money. We will look forward to coming back next year

We stayed here for a week in September and had a wonderful week. We were met with a yummy cream tea which was very welcome after our journey to the cottage. The cottage has beautiful views and was very peaceful and clean to relax in. It was a great base for visiting and exploring Cornwall. We were lucky with the weather and it was very mild and sunny, but we couldn't resist using the woodburner in the evening! We enjoyed the using the pool table and loved meeting the animals. The owner was very kind and relaxed and we felt very welcome here. We would love to come back in the future.

We stayed here for fours days absolutely loved it. Our two year old loved feeding the animals on the farm and the hosts are very accommodating, friendly and just great.
The cottage was perfect and the log fire made for cosy evenings.
We'll be returning that is for sure.

My husband and I spent 5 days in Ricann Cottage on Trecan Farm with our daughter and son-in-law. First of all, I must say how tranquil the surroundings were with rolling hills and countryside as far as the eye could see which gently massaged the soul. Janet was waiting for us when we arrived to take us to our cottage which was a small converted barn and which was very cosy and well equipped and, inside, there was a lovely cream tea waiting for us with fresh flowers in a vase on the table in the kitchen. Both bedrooms had en-suites and my daughter and son-in-law were upstairs, whilst my husband and I had the downstairs bedroom and there was also a cosy and comfortable lounge complete with a good size television. There were 4 other holiday properties there, but none of them were at all intrusive and, in fact, the owners are in the process of renovating another down a little lane which looked very promising. One of the properties was an amazing log cabin which would also tempt us on another occasion, so you really are spoilt for choice. There was also a games room across the courtyard where we had an hilarious game of table tennis and pool one afternoon! Behind this was a tennis court and a play area for children. The farm itself was what you would call a small holding which had pigs, rabbits, goats, hens, ducks and the friendliest sheep I had ever encountered! There were 9 of them altogether that had been hand reared and they used to run up to see you at the fence wanting a fuss! We were also told how much they liked bread so, needless to say, we fed them every day – no wonder they were all on the large side! In addition, there was, of course, the farm cat, Matilda and the farm dog – both of whom again were very friendly. They were also eggs for sale and, when we left, I bought a dozen for the princely sum of £2 – a bargain and they were delicious! Although we were inland, it was easy to get to Looe and Fowey, not to mention other local beaches and, in fact, we had a cream tea at Talland Bay (another one!) sitting outside overlooking the sea which was really lovely. The little café there had lots of delicious options, so it was very difficult to choose – a good excuse to go back! We also took our daughter and son-in-law to Port Isaac to show her the “Doc Martin sights” which was easy to get to. My only “complaint” would be that the signal for our mobiles wasn’t that great, although you could get a signal if you went outside and up the lane, or upstairs in the barn. However, that was the least of our problems and, in fact, at times it felt good that we were “incommunicado”! All in all, we had an extremely relaxing time with the added bonus of excellent weather! However, having said that, we would return in any weather and definitely for longer next time!

Comfortable, pleasant and relaxing cottage

We spent a wonderful few days with friends in this most pleasant and relaxing cottage. It was well equipped and everthing seems to have been thought of for guests. Janet and Richard, the owners, were very friendly and pleasant and not at all intrusive. Although wifi is available it is patchy (which wasn't a problem for us). We would recommend it as a great 'get away from it all' break and hope to return there and maybe even try one of the other great looking cottages.

Peaceful, relaxing location with the added bonus of farm animals!

We are a family of grandparents, parents and a one year old baby. Riccan Cottage provided all that was advertised - and more! We received a lovely welcome from Mrs Pugh and an unexpected cream tea. She had taken care to provide what we needed for our grandson's stay and was happy to give advice on local attractions. The daily feed of the Trecan Farm animals at 10.00 am was great fun and there was plenty of grassed area outside our cottage to relax and enjoy. From the farm we were easily able to take day trips to Looe, Polperro, Fowey, the Eden Project and local beaches. Although we didn't go inside the other cottages at Trecan Farm, the whole set up was very attractive and ideally met our requirements
